One shade lighter is Pale Silk which is a great color for kitchens (with less light) and hallways. Raw Silk looks great with darker wood floors and cabinets such as walnut and cherry tones. At the same time, it works well with white cabinets and trim. It will make your crowning molding and trim pop. Other warm colors that have gold/tan undertones are Natural Beige, Wheat Straw and Mellon Grain. Lincoln Home Beige was used in our ugly duckling house. It is in the beige family with very slight gray/green underlying tints. Don’t let the words gray/green scare you as it is still considered a warm neutral. Lincoln Home Beige works very well with the lighter oak floors and cabinets. It tones down the orange tones that you often see in oak finishes. It also works well with white cabinets and trim. One shade lighter is Newport Beige which is great for a hallway or a space that does not get much light. Sea Sand is also a nice warm beige color that we recommend often. The Best Price
Do not purchase the cheapest paint simply because it costs the least. Labor is expensive (whether it is your sweat equity or the bill you receive from professionals). The cheapest paint provides the worst coverage, requiring more coats of paint - that is, more product and more labor and more hassle, all of which is NOT smart. Summary - Coordinating Paint Color with Flooring, Cabinets, etc.
Raw Silk - Darker wood floors/cabinets, e.g. walnut or cherry tones;
Pale Silk - Kitchens/hallways with less light; and
Newport Beige - Hallways or rooms with less light
